Tailor-made gum shields offer much better protection than those that can be bought over-the-counter as they are designed to fit your teeth perfectly. We take impressions of your teeth and these are used to craft a custom-made appliance. We can also have your name printed on the sports guard.

Night Guards

Teeth grinding and clenching of the jaw (known as bruxism) often happens worse at night when we are asleep. For that reason, it is hard to stop. Bruxism is often caused by stress and can cause tooth wear, breakage and sensitivity. It can also contribute to TMD (Temporomandibular disorder).

If you are aware of tension in your jaw or of headaches that you think are caused by clenching, you may want to think about getting a night guard. These custom-made shields are worn at night and fit comfortably between your upper and lower teeth. They cushion the impact that bruxism has on your teeth and jaw.

Snoring and sleep apnoea

Bruxism isn’t the only problem that can occur at night. Using a similar appliance, we can help treat snoring and sleep apnoea. An anti-snoring device can stop the lower jaw from dropping into a position that narrows the airways.
